- From the Airport - for those who come by plane, every hour early in the morning (before 7 am.) and in the evening (after 6 pm.) or every half an hour during the day, there are trains from the airport to the main station. The journey takes around 16 minutes. The ticket costs 7 PLN. The train station is approximately 200 m from the passenger terminal (5 min on foot). There is also a free shuttle bus from the terminal to the station.
In addition to that three regular bus lines (208, 209 and 292) go from the airport to the city centre.
We suggest to take the line 292 (see here for timetable) since it stops at the Hotel Cracovia ("Cracovia") and close to the city centre (next stop from the Hotel Cracovia called "AGH").
One can also take a taxi which should cost around 60 PLN (~15 €). If you take a taxi ask for the price before you enter it. We advice to use only the registered taxi companies (see below) and to ask for the receipt.
- From the Main Station - for those who come by train we suggest to take the bus number 179 and leave at the stop called "AGH" (stop number 5) which is the nearest stop from the Auditorium Maximum or at the next one called "Cracovia" which is at the Hotel Cracovia.
The taxi fare should not exceed 30 PLN (less than 10 €).
- Taxi "LAJKONIK": tel. +48 12 267-35-35, +48 12 196-28, please tell that you are a participant of the MESON conference.
- Cracow city transportation
The city transport system in Cracow includes buses and trams.
There are two zones of transportation. Zone 1 "city" covers almost whole Cracow excluding its suburbs e.g. the airport. All tram lines and bus lines starting with 1 are in this zone. Zone 2 covers suburbs of Cracow (e.g. the airport). All buses with numbers starting with 2 go to the second zone but when one uses such a bus within the zone 1, one does not need to cancel the ticket for zone 2.
During the night only the bus transportation is available. All night bus lines start with 6.
